ELISE POSTON
Elise graduated from West Virginia University with a B.S. in Animal and Nutritional Science and from Washington State University with a M.S. in Agriculture and graduate certificate from the Tidal Leadership program. After becoming a Certified Livestock Advisor, she started the Farrel-McWhirter Farm School in Redmond, WA with great support from her colleagues, and discovered a deep love of teaching and program development.
She has created and supported training programs for the City of Redmond, Tiny Treks Outdoor Preschool and Outdoor Explorers homeschool program, Scampers Daycamp for Dogs, and the Washington State Animal Response Team, where she has served on the training committee as instructional designer since 2015. Additionally, she continues to provide guest lectures for the Lake Washington School District, Community Emergency Response Teams, and public safety and emergency response agencies, as well as private groups.
In 2017, she founded Form & Function Consulting to support entrepreneurs. She now channels her curiosity, innate organizational tendencies (as a child she would reorganize her sock drawer for fun!), and formal education in neuroscience, behavior, and physiology into bespoke systems and training for a variety of organizations, ranging from medical clinics to construction companies. The work provides an endless supply of engaging puzzles and learning opportunities while still allowing time to pursue her passions of DIY home restoration, cooking global cuisines, and playing boardgames or escape room scenarios with her family.
DANIEL KIRKPATRICK
Daniel is a playful character who is semi-retired from his lifelong work as an educator, leader, teacher, student, and entrepreneur. He spent three decades founding and running an experiential high school and now works as a consultant and mentor, helping individuals and organizations attain peak aliveness and effectiveness.
Daniel is a published writer in both fiction and nonfiction, and enjoys playing music, carving wood, rambling naked in the woods, and being a climate activist. His life goal is to continue making better and better mistakes. Along with Lisa, his partner of 35 years, Daniel raised three amazing kids. Now that the kids are independent Daniel and Lisa are often found heading out on skiing, backpacking, and paragliding trips.
